Films and real life tend to have different views on what an American Dream is and how it is viewed from a person's point of view. In our cases we tend to think of it as us having a family, having a home and living a healthy life. In films now in days it tends to be shown differently. American Dream in the directors eyes is when you are filthy rich, have a beautiful woman and have power or command over a chain of people and control how things go on around you. In the movie Scarface a man that goes by the name of Tony Montana is a Refugee than comes from Cuba on a boat to then find himself making deals and meetings with high class drug lords in the city of Miami, Florida.

In this movie there are many shots and scenes in which it shows his empowerment over everyone else and how it all comes to a downfall at the end because of the greed that catches up with him surely and soon. In this shot it shows the power that he has, being able to lay in a personal jacuzzi smoking a blunt and watching tv while his beautiful wife is in the back of him. It shows that he is living the American Dream by having all the power and things that he wanted because of the way he dealt with it all being able to support for himself with no one else giving him a lending hand.
In this picture it is shown that he has power and is feeling like he has no worries. Big jacuzzi for himself, wife in the back, right hand man next to him and the remote and blunt in his hand. It shows that the money and power he has made him feel comfortable and knows that he can not be touched.

(Tony Montana with all the power and Money)
In this scene he is shooting at all the people that are coming after him to kill him but this one man is coming behind him with a gun as he is not noticing or paying attention because he is busy with the others. In this part of the movie it is as if no matter how long you can be on the top and in your prime you can always hit a sudden drought and either fall or even die from it all. That no matter how much you focus on what's in front of you when you lose your attention on what is behind you it will eventually catch up and get you.
